My issue is with fundamentalists - regardless of which fairytale they believe - mucking things up because they're "offended" by somebody's perceived immorality. This goes way back. I recently read Herbert Asbury's "The Barbary Coast," written in 1933. One chapter chronicles the split between physicians trying to teach hygiene to the poor, and the Christian Fundamentalists who obstructed it because it offended their sensibilities.
